hey guys,

it's been a while since i visited the site...lots of useful stuff as usual!

i'm fairly new to teaching piano, and i'm finding that although my knowledge of theory, technique, etc. is fine for teaching the level of students i teach (mostly beginners, a few intermediate students), i have trouble presenting it in a way that is understandable to the student. i also have trouble structuring lessons in a way that makes sense.

so...i'm looking into buying some beginner piano books. all my students are adults at this point. any suggestions?

i'm fairly new to teaching piano, and although i feel i have a good grasp on theory, technique, etc i often have trouble communicating concepts to my students in a way that's understandable. i also have trouble structuring lessons in a way that makes sense.

thanks in advance!
i have found the faber & faber books (piano adventures) great for beginners. they have an adult course now, but the older beginner book works pretty well too. (not jazz though, just all around how to)
have you checked out tim richard's improvising blues piano and exploring jazz piano?  not for the absolute beginner, but a good long term project for a reasonably new player.  there is a review by scot in the book review section of this site.
check out the piano by ear series by andy ostwalt.
