Happy New Year!

happy new year to everyone here! ljp couldn't have made it this long without all of you.

let's hear about your new year's gigs. anything fun, you getting the new year's double size paycheck, is it your gig or were you hired as the pianist, etc...

i'm not actually playing this new year's, which feels strange as well as invigorating because for the first time in forever i can go out and listen to other people playing music if i feel like it.

If I'm not back in 24 hours, call the president.

i'm playing behind a local legend this evening. he sings and plays guitar. it's fun because he just stands there and does tunes (old r&b & pop)without telling us what they are, and we just jump in and follow. that's what i call a "low pressure gig". he can do the gig with or without us! and we get paid! lol (still have to wear a tux though - oy...)

i took a 6 year hiatus from gigging a while ago and absolutely loved staying at home on nye! my wife was still out gigging, so i was at home with some guiness! i hope you enjoy your nye off, scot!
