there will be some growing pains with the new updates i put online today.  feel free to post all the problems you run across in this thread.  i know of many problems and i'm working on them now, the biggest being there are links that don't work.

i'm messing with the .htaccess file which is kind of like web voodoo.  not sure if i'm going to have to slash the palm of my hand and drip blood on the keyboard while chanting "oye como va" while crossing my eyes yet.

anyway, i'll iron out the wrinkles in the next little while.

ok, i >think< i fixed all the obvious problems the update created. please let me know if you find something.

note to the spanish speaking folk - albetan in particular - i had to get rid of the spanish "n" character in a room/forum name because the type of link i'm using didn't work with it.

hey, how about a brief list of updates?

here's what's done:

- obvious display differences.  the site is fluid three column css and should look good on everything from a dick tracy lcd watch to a 54' stadium wide-screen display.

- email notices when a thread you are part of has been updated.  so, make sure your email is correct or turn off the option by clicking the "account" link at the top of the screen just under the logo graphic.

- more intelligent links to rooms, halls, and messages. should help with search engine stuff.

- got rid of a lot of unused rooms and added a nice "all rooms" list in the right column.

- updated the file system so that it's easier to search for files and such.

### needs to be done:

- fix the social sharing buttons so you can share each page. will be done soon, probably before you read this.

- enhance file search to take multiple terms.  no problem, just not a priority.

- a few more visual things could be updated and i'll do those as time permits or as i get requests/bug reports from you guys.

ok, that's all i can think of. i did not keep a change log because i didn't know i was going to be doing so much work on the system!

looks great, scot!

one thing i noticed is that all the "hidden rooms" are being displayed and listed as having new messages.
....and the logout button was very hard to find as its color is similar to its background color (and i'm old and can't see very well:)
i noticed that too about the hidden rooms.

logout link, i'll get that enhanced for you old dudes ;)

another nice addition is that when  you are reading a thread and log in, you stay at that thread instead of being forced to look at the welcome screen.

cool!  love it!
love the new logout button too! thanks!
ok...i had an issue typing in a message text box.  some of the text went off screen to the right, and i was not able to see it for a few words.  however, as i'm typing in this box, text is wrapping correctly...just one of those things??
i wonder if the page had fully loaded before you finished typing?  i think if the css or html is not fully loaded, things like that could happen.  let me know if it comes up again, thanks!
