hi folks,

my life is seriously precarious right now, at least as far as finances go.  so, i pretty much devote my energies to getting through the day, the week, the month.  if i don't post here, it's not because i don't find the content interesting, it's mainly because i'm spending all my energy surviving.  once i get to the point where i have leisure time again, i have all sorts of great plans on updating this site, the system that runs it, and everything involved with it.

regardless of all that, the bottom line is this:

keep on keeping on (as clark terry says) and don't pause for a second when you have some inspiration.  never, ever, ever, ever pause when you get the itch to record or put on a show or whatever.  things like music are what make people want to wake up the next day, so all of you are a big piece of the machine that makes the real world move.

keep it up, and have a great 2013!
If I'm not back in 24 hours, call the president.

hi scot:

i don't know what you are going through, but i hope you keep digging for the means to meet your financial needs.

i've been out of work for more than a year (see my previous post). all i can say is that you can't give up hope, to find comfort with friends and family.

who knows what door is about to be opened for you and provide opportunity.

stay strong. i said a little prayer for you with hopes that the means to meet your needs are soon at hand.

god bless.
thoughts and prayers for you both. although this is a rather gloomy month for me personally too (anniversaries of my mom and my sister who lost their lives), i continue to play the keys, sing, write, and come to this site where i know i have friends like you.  bless all you piano jazzers in 2013!
wow - looks like we're all going through something challenging at the moment.

scot, thanks for all you do for this forum.  even when you are not able to participate it is still here for the rest of us.  what a great gift you've given the jazz piano world!  it surely helps all of us get through whatever it is we must get through.

amen to that!

:)
