This is one of my favorite fake books because there are tunes in here you won't find anywhere else. Chick's voicings for "Tone for Jones Bones", Birdland, tunes by George Cables and McCoy Tyner that you won't find anywhere else, among many, many others. It was Sher Music's first fake book. I picked it up in the early 90's when I was learning jazz piano at the University of Washington and I still have it on my shelf, and I still pull it out and play from it.
Sher Music's first fake book was designed to include all the best original jazz compositions not included in the old, illegal Real Book. Composers include Wayne Shorter, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Russ Ferrante, John Scofield, and many more. Like all Sher Music fake books, it features composer-approved transcriptions, easy-to-read calligraphy, and many extras (sample bass lines, chord voicings, drum appendix, etc.) not found in conventional fake books.

"I'm very impressed with the overall quality. I find myself using it a lot."-Mike Nock
"I predict great and lasting success for the book. It will be a standard."-Jon Hendricks.
