alas, i don't analyze tunes into "concise educational text" files as you suggeseted i do. i am a practical musician, not a scholar. i "see" music as it relates to performance, not as a numerical puzzle. i leave that to you academic-minded folk.
and sorry, i don't do midi -- i actually work with real musicians which, i know, is kinda old fashioned these days. well, i've done midi for a few jingles and bkg grooves for telephone on-hold messages and the like, but i find no fun in playing tunes into the computer. i have .wav files but they're way to big to upload here and i don't think i have just friends recorded anyway.
it would be interesting to hear a midi of you doing just friends to see how your analysis has translated to practicality. look forward to hearing it.
the important thing is to keep thinking and keep checking out tunes as you obviously are doing - giant steps is a good one. but don't let it end with an educational treatise, and don't be overly pendantic about it. jazz ain't vivaldi. when you find a chord relationship, look for it in other tunes and then listen to good players to hear how they treat them. and then do it yourself. nothing is carved in stone.

Jazz Piano Notebook Series
Volume 1 of this educational jazz piano book contains 15 jazz piano exercises, tricks, and other interesting jazz piano techniques, voicings, grooves, and ideas Scot Ranney enjoys playing.
"Latinesque"
Volume 2 has 14 jazz piano exercises and tricks of the trade, and quite a bit of it is Calypso jazz piano related material, including some Monty Alexander and Michel Camilo style grooves. Jazz piano education is through the ears, but books like this can help.
Volume 3 contains 12 jazz piano exercises and explorations by the acclaimed jazz piano educator, pianist, author, and recording artist Tim Richards.
Tim wrote the well known "Exploring Jazz Piano" and "Improvising Blues Piano" books and has several others to his name.
Volume 4 is by Jeff Brent, a jazz pianist, composer, teacher, and author of "Modalogy" and other acclaimed jazz theory and education books. In this book Jeff shares detailed analysis of transcriptions of live performances. He covers everything from the shape of the songs to the tricks and licks he uses in improvised lines to the ideas behind his lush chord voicings.
