been told your timing "sucks" by someone you mistakenly idolized and asked their opinion of your original songs?----

did you believe them??? i hope not!

gotta hurt? ---but look at where that person is in the music--have they been anywhere you would like to have been----and are they going anywhere you wanna go? if not, you asked for an opinion from the wrong source.

we would never have heard of paul mccartney and the beatles if "the bad timing gurus" had their way--but guess what? "magic" in the music alway wins out---because it should!

the gifted ones have that-- and i bet mccartney didn't ask for many opinions---just did the songs---and voila--the rest is a very wonderful history!

if someone is multigifted and plays many instruments and sings and records---their timimg is more than likely going to "slip"while recording---doesn't mean they have bad timing---but does mean they need a "masterful" mixdown.

i recently directed a recording session for another female singer and it came out great and the engineer got those great "bottoms" with the bass and drums and the mixdown "rocked" cause he was sensitive, loves original music and had no frustrations about being a singer or a writer or a "player" and brought this product to the "magic".

original music is the "innocent" and always deserves tlc and when i'm involved i see to  it that it gets it---

criticism is a "killer of the dream"----observation-----a good thing

those that do a lot of it are usually "control freaks" and not that talented themselves---so they collect gifted people to "rule"

sad, but often true!

so do be careful who you ask the opinions of regarding your original songs.

of course for those who dance to the "masochism tango"---they will keep doing that until they destroy their gifts---i'm not writing this for those guys---

i never ask anyone's opinion of my own songs. i just go record them and see what happens-- and those who know me well know that if i didn't ask for their opinion----they'd best not give one---

if anyone is looking for a phenomenal studio, beautiful, state of the art high tech equip and the best vocal mike and best mixdown i've ever experienced----and best of all----so if you want to do your original stuff believe me this is soooooooooo affordable----if so,lemme know and i'll give you the info.

i'll be doing some of my own blues songs there shortly.

meanwhile, please don't let someone who may be jealous of your gifts or have other reasons to criticize your work tell you your timing is lousy and cause you not to write your original music and question your worth as a musician---just be more careful who you show your musical babies to--nextime.

why do i care so much about this---- because----i love the"originals" in the music and don't want them harmed.

like stevie winwood says "music is my first love and it will be my last"

you can write to me at mackenna77@aol.com if you want info on the studio.

meanwhile, believe in your work and stay around those with positive and happy vibes for you.
