has anyone ever picked up chicks by showing off your keyboard skills? i know guitarists and drummers get chicks all the time, but i don't know about keyboardists.

if the chick is smart enough, and u're actually good.. then there's no reason why u shouldn't be able to

lol...jazzyman great post.
well, one of the groups i play in is a rock/funk/jam group.  we do mostly rock tunes but i put in all my fusion/jazz style into soloing etc.  i meet women all the time at these shows.  i'm not sure if it's my keyboard ability or the fact that they are talking to a "performer".
i'd love to hear all your opinions on this but most of the time women don't necessarily understand what i'm doing.  they talk to me because i am confident and maybe  because of my stage presence.  what do you all think?
i think it's because performers are often "bigger than life", especially with good threads & nice lighting (as pertaining to bands). also, it is definitely an asset to be able to play an instrument & can make up for "lacking attributes" such as money...
and music can say many things, it is the universal language, often expressing love & beauty.
some of those chicks might play better than you!
i actually suck at piano/keyboard, but i want to be good enough to pick up chicks in the future. lol
if a girl is interested in you, it has little to do with whether or not you play an instrument.

you don't need the keyboard as a crutch to "pick up chicks". if you're lousy at meeting women in "real life" you won't have that much higher percentage of "luck" just because you play an instrument.

if a girl is interested in you, she'll let you know - believe me.
7, do you have a gf? or you just sleep with hookers?
hard, you'll be able think up a question even stupider than the one above. although that would certainly be a challenge for anyone.
jazzyman5, you're asking questions but not listening to the answers.

lol, as you might say.
having once been a chick (i am too old to be a chick now), i can tell you that as long as you are not an embarrassment, other people think you play well, you are somewhat attractive and smell good, and you are moderately famous-- i.e., the chick can use you to show off to her friends -- you will be able to pick up chicks.

it really won't matter if she understands what you are doing up there.  after all, you're just looking for sex.
"if a girl is interested in you, she'll let you know - believe me."

yes for sure, & its basically all in her eyes, you can see she's attracted to you. (those "wiggling eyes" going all over your body...)
"if a girl is interested in you, she'll let you know - believe me."

not all girls will let you know if they are interested in you stupid! girls that are shy won't let you know how they feel about you and some are just a tease!
hey, don't call people stupid. that's why your message is censored.  act like and adult and you'll be treated like an adult. act like a dork and you'll be treated like a dork.

about women: if you're confident in your walk through life, it doesn't matter if you're tall, short, fat, or thin, rich or poor.  they will always be more receptive.  don't wait for a women to talk to you. if you see one you want to talk to, go over and say hello to them.  my current girlfriend was wandering around the bar during my tuesday night jam session. i decided during the set to talk to her, and we hit it off right away.

anyway, i can't believe i responded to this thread. this belongs in the off campus area.  make a room called "relationships" or something.

and to discourage any more posts in this thread, i will censor everything after this post regardless if it's a good post or a bad one.
If I'm not back in 24 hours, call the president.

just play kissing a fool,it might be you or any romantic tunes, and sing to those chicks, and soon they'll join you singing right after they hear your maj7th chord and some blues licks...
now, give me back my jazz pages........:)
yeah man

my name is styles over there too...

although the progression of a dj is too eventually live without the site(and overdosing on internet), which is why i don't post there (or anywhere) much anymore...

your'e not  pook are you? lol
it has always been my observation that although in the beginning
the goal is to meet chicks by joining a band, the final outcome
is that music becomes your mistress!
