here are some lyrics to a song i wrote for us, for the singer/musician.

i get great response doing it live--- from the audience, but i didn't write it for them---i wrote it for you and for me and for all of us who stay in this business and brave out the most trying of times,  because we know we are "meant to do what we do"

if it is meaningful at all to you, that's the reason it was written.

i wrote it-- or-- rather "it wrote me"-- on one tearful and sad sunday morning

my lawyer has it framed in his office. he put himself through law school as a pianist and holds the writer in such high regard---and gets the best publishing deals for them---so they retain most of the rights to their own stuff.  i call him the "sweet barracuda"

he had this lyric published in some musical newpapers

i do hope it speaks to you

that is important to me

thanks for taking the time to read it

"birds of a feather"

birds of a feather
that's what they call us--
bravin' the weather, tired of august
maybe next summer-- won't be a bummer
they'll be new ways for the blue jays

scanning the parkways,usin' our hunches
fighting our envy for people with lunches
lookin' for breadcrumbs, maybe they'll drop some
in the narrows---for the sparrows

birds of a feather, exausted magicians
it has been said we have "fowl" dispositions
how can they blame us,  dammed it they'll tame us
we got spirit-- let em' hear it

birds of a feather sittin' on wires
lookin' for someone our music inspires
why should we care so, knowing that they're so-- unimpressed with--
what we're blessed with

who's gonna care in a hundred years?
who's gonna shed warm, salty, tears?
and will they be praising new birds that arrive--
and keeping our species alive?

birds of a feather, now isn't it grand?
they wanna fly and we wanna land
walk around with money tucked under our wings
and find out  what alla' that brings

so birds of a feather sing la da da da
la da da da dee

and we'll form our own "little "flocking" company"!!!

you'd like the melody---fun to play!
