i'll be wined and dined like millions of moms the world over tomorrow.

i would have sworn that my daughter would have hated me as i was on the road--singing-- for most of her growing up years

if my stint ran into summer then she and her nanny were flown wherever i was to be with me. i think my daughter learned "fast" being with the crowd of musicians and stage people i hung out with!!

they were a good bunch though and better to learn from them than "normal people"----

recently she asked me to watch a couple of movies--- saying that the female characters both reminded her of me.

the movies-"being julia" and an older nineties movie "head in the clouds"

i watched them and understood why she thought "julia" and i had a lot in common--- but with the "charlize theron" character in "head in the clouds" well, let's just say that i'm abnormally heterosexual and my love of men is no secret to anyone who knows me well--her character, while more diversified than me, embodied that love of men---i enjoyed that part, a lot!!!

i actually was so inspired by this film that i did a painting and titled it "head in the clouds".

that painting caused somewhat of a sensation and i'll write about that later.

i asked my daughter why these female characters in the movies reminded her of me and she surprised me in her comment.

she said "because both are so romantic and so passionate and neither of these women tried to hide who they were or apologized for what they did. neither was "hypocritical"

whether she meant her statement as a compliment or not---i took it as such and thought this----

maybe--- as a parent you can do pretty much "whatever" and still be loved by your children----as long as you don't "hide who you are" and have no false pretense about that-----even the little ones, i think, can spot the  "do as i say, not as i do" ---and i never did that one.

i'm glad on this mother's day that when my daughter and i are in a room together--- anyone can see---that she loves me---that i love her!

she too is a singer/musician---i think god knew i had to have that comraderie in order to relate ---grateful for it.

if any of you guys have irritations at your mom just go into a little drag, dress up like your mom---- and pretend that you are her and had to raise "you".

i'll bet she will get a wonderful present from you or at the very least---a "real" hug!!!   nothing better than a "real hug" anyway.

---  well----almost nothing!!! ha

happy mother's day to your moms and to you guys who are nuturing souls too. you are the stong ones---my favorites--

that is, if you don't get into the "deck swabbing" routine for the women in your life-----

i tend to be ridiculously positive and the only thing that can bring out "sadism" in me is a "mascochist"----can't stand em' ha!

this little quiet room is great to write in--- since probably noone ever reads it.

fun!!!!
