hahaha no one cares!!
well.... nvm what that asshole says, i care!

this is a nice song, i like the transition from the beginning into the real jazzy part, works nicely.  the drum hits and accents are really nice, but i think it would have a much nicer touch if they were light.  like, the same accents and stuff, just a lot lighter and softer.  yeah, the drum hits are nice and soft in your solo section; i think they should be that soft for the whole thing.  nice piano solo; when a song is open like that i know i for one tend to overdo it, but you keep it nice and simple and focus on your clarity and even style, and it works out very nicely.

very good tune!
thanks a lot doublez, for the support and the comments.:)
we did the recording with a minidisc mic...that explains some of the drum sound...but again, thanks! the drummer is actually the composer of the tune....he writes really nice music. :)
well it took my comment to get you to say something doublez, my plan worked!!!  mwohahahah!!!  anyway ole, excuse me for being so rude, i didnt mean harm, i was just annoyed that no once had commented on your lovely playing.  i really like the sound of your music and i would like to ask your permission if i could upload it onto my ipod.  i think your last track is especially lovely, i think the quality of the recording is fine, just the drums let it down ever so slightly, but your solos are excellent on all tunes.  i think that your rhythm especially is fantastic - seriously man, really good .  please upload more when you get a chance!

by the way have you studied much classical music, your technique sounds like you have.
no hard feelings, antijv! :)
you can upload it if you want. it would be an honour. thanks a lot for the feedback. it means a lot.  i have studied a little bit classical, but i am not "a classical pianist". i have done a lot of technique exercises though. practicing lines slowly and accurate and try to get different patterns into the fingers, has been important to me.
i try to transcribe rythmical stuff like mehldau or other pianist with a great time. not necessarily whole solos, but maybe a line or two that i find interesting. and then trying to tap the rythm with my fiingers to get it accurate. i have worked a lot trying to place my lines in odd places, and to start and my lines on non - regular places.
hahaha, antijv, what can i say, you're right.

wow, two things surprise me about that recording-
1. that was recorded on a minidisc mic?  pretty good quality for that.
and
2. a drummer wrote that?  a drummer that can write music?!?!?  no way.
1. train dance and on my way home is minidisc recording from a concert. simple girl is a proffesional live recording from a concert, and three equals one is a studio production.
2. he writes a lot of typical drummer - modal tunes also, but he sure can write. he has actually studied composition at the conservatory. :)
a great musician...but he can`t play piano...:)
song i think a minimalist focus on atmosphere would have been better. just one man talking there.

train dance-

sort of that new wayne shorter, terence blanchard feel. i really don't have much to say on it.

you're a good player, with pretty good diction and nice rythm. just keep playing and try new things with your compositions and you'll do great
ole, wow that sounds cool to me! what is your background. most certainly you are a professional.
regards, a.
thanks for that great evaluation styles. really interesting to read. you seem to have a reflective musical mind. :)

asteffen: first of all thanks for your encouragement. :) my background is playing in a lot of choirs and noodling around at the piano as a kid. i have played some church organ and a bit classical piano when i was 17, i started listening to jazz and to take lessons from a great jazzpianist in norway.  i have studied music at a private academy, and i am now going to attend the jazz course at the grieg academy in norway.
