Take a look at Mark Levin's "The Jazz Piano Book" here icon and "The Jazz Theory Book" here.

---------------I have years of clssical piano behind me and my theory is now getting better. I can improvise a bit right now but I need help in building jazz chord/voicings, therefore, I need a good book to start with. Should I buy The Jazz Piano Book or The Jazz Theory Book?

you will find more information on voicings in the jazz piano book.  much of the material is duplicated between books, but the theory book is designed to less instrument-specific so it doesn't really have much information on piano voicings.

you could also have a look at the frank mantooth book on voicings (check out the reviews in this room), although be aware it focuses mainly on comping with a group - there's not much info for solo voicings.  i'd also really recommend randy halberstadt's metaphors for the musician as it gives you some good basic voicing methods for playing solo, duo, trio or bigger band situations.
thanks alot, barry.
no, for now i don't want to focus on comping. i'd just like to create some nice sounding jazz chords while improvising on some gershwin tunes.
i'll pick up the jazz piano book.
i have not seen the theory book but i am becoming curious. i am quite familiar with the piano book. it has been out here for some years now. it is very clear and concise. a person with a classical background should be able to learn a lot from it. it is very modern oriented. he has got examples of the actual pitches that the current jazz piano stars are playing now. play those things and listen to them absorb that information, and after awhile you will sound good.
how can i get this book?
these book are available at most music stores and all over the place online.
