wow
keith jarret transcriptions, solo piano at least, are amazing for jazz pianists to study.  his use of sustain-resolution notes in chords and melody throughout what he does is a real treat to get your mind around. after several years of practicing it, i've noticed that it's starting to happening automatically in some of my solo playing, and when i think about it, i can get really creative with the sustain-resolution idea. it adds so much inside motion to a piece that i wish i had understood the idea, or even had it in my head which seems to be the main problem for me with jazz piano stuff, quite a bit earlier.
If I'm not back in 24 hours, call the president.
