i saw him standing in one his shows and i think he's about 6'2"
cool!  that's my height.  therefore, i should be able to play as well as he does.  it's called the transitive property.
6'3
as far as playing ability look@ micahel petrucciani, he was a drawf(?) or midget but he was fantastic. so, size can help but defintely not needed to be successful.

now with that said there are certain advatages that come with size like strength, hand size etc.

i notice that in players that are large like oscar peterson, rachmaninoff and marian peterscu they do seem to be able to get more power out of the piano. their chords sound thunderous in comparison to others who were smaller...

they do
monty alexander is not tall at all, i'd say he's about 5'5", maybe 5'6". i'm only 5'9" and if you look at the picture of monty and myself, i sort of tower over him.

nice picture, scot.  you got to meet him!  that must have been a great experience.
i've been lucky enough to see him quite a few times in a lot of different situations.  he always comes across as being a nice guy who loves to play music, has fun on stage especially when people are getting into the music, and will always take a moment to say hello or even chat about something if you want to.
