got your book today. it looks sharp!
i compared it against the partial proofing that i did with those pdf pages that i printed out a couple of months ago and there are still some flies in the ointment.
i hope to have the proofing completely finished by the end of this week so i can send the 2nd copy back to you with all those "red pen marks".
a couple of things though before i forget:
1. the spiral bindings ripped the envelope almost to shreds. they need to be sent out in a higher quality of envelope.
2. i talked to the manager of the music store that i teach out of about carrying the book(s) in the store. since they need to make a profit on all book sales, you'd have to cut them a deal. they normally buy books by the dozen. so the initial order would only be 12 books.
3. in order to make them "retail ready" it would probably be a good idea to have the price printed on the back cover (and a bar code would also be a good idea - but not mandatory since they can create their own bar codes for items).

Jazz Piano Notebook Series
Volume 1 of this educational jazz piano book contains 15 jazz piano exercises, tricks, and other interesting jazz piano techniques, voicings, grooves, and ideas Scot Ranney enjoys playing.

Volume 2 has 14 jazz piano exercises and tricks of the trade, and quite a bit of it is Calypso jazz piano related material, including some Monty Alexander and Michel Camilo style grooves. Jazz piano education is through the ears, but books like this can help.
Volume 3 contains 12 jazz piano exercises and explorations by the acclaimed jazz piano educator, pianist, author, and recording artist Tim Richards.
Tim wrote the well known "Exploring Jazz Piano" and "Improvising Blues Piano" books and has several others to his name.
Volume 4 is by Jeff Brent, a jazz pianist, composer, teacher, and author of "Modalogy" and other acclaimed jazz theory and education books. In this book Jeff shares detailed analysis of transcriptions of live performances. He covers everything from the shape of the songs to the tricks and licks he uses in improvised lines to the ideas behind his lush chord voicings.
