this thursday will be fun- i'm playing in a large concert hall with over 2500 people hanging around. they will be waiting for the annual mt. baker ski film festival, but i'm playing for around an hour an a half before it starts (during slide show) on a beautiful 9' concert steinway.  time to jam and have a good time!
If I'm not back in 24 hours, call the president.

swing on brother!
the steinway 'd' --what a great axe! as loud as a 747 with great action! i worked in a store that sold steinways and i'd always play the opening chords of "the warsaw concerto" on it. oh and btw the d is actually 8' 11.5" long
break a leg, man!

the last time i played a big steinway was in switzerland. it was stiff as hell ...
i just looked at the ad for the festival. they listed a lot of items including a dj. i guess mr. scot ranney was part of the more. how can a legitimate performer be listed under more. the treatment of musicians and other artists in this country is a travesty. we have no appreciation for the truly finer things of life left here. this country is full of the most obnoxious pseudo-human beings on this planet, and not just for this matter. i do so hope my little rant is cathartic, i am seriously contemplating relocation, if not for my sons i would have been gone before now.
where would you go?
i would probably move to the south of france as i have many friends there and those friends have an appreciation for many of the things i find lacking here. in all actuality i will probably never leave permanently because of my sons and my grandson, i guess that is a sad statement as to how i feel about my home country. i feel so disenfranchised here and have grave concerns about the direction of this place, and the results of the election haven't increased my ill-feeling. politics from all the major parties are a major part of the problem. that and the robust egocentricities of our population.
