really dig these concerts dave.  thanks for generously sharing them with us.  you are truly at one with your music.  you can change tempo and back in the middle of a song as casually as i would look at my watch.  
may i ask from where you derive your inspiration?

hey jim, thanks for the kind woirds. pianistically i would say lennie tristano (i grew up in his living room), bill, keith and bud. on a larger scale, all art comes from divine sources; i try to concentrate when i perform or record on a particular aspect of whatever i can, in my miniscule way, perceive of as the divine being in that moment - for example, feelings of peace, power, beauty, intensity, speed, eternity, etc., and let whatever i can feel of those qualities flow into some music.

tomorrow i'm doing the master class on dick hyman, he's gonna be there. oy vay, hope it comes out okay!
